My wife and I live in Tuolumne county and I wanted to do something nice for my wife for her birthday but we didn't have a lot of money to spend. We went to Murphys and went wine tasting and then returned for the night at the RV Ranch. The owners went out of their way to make it a great stay for us. They have a wonderful little store where we bought pancake mix for about what you would buy it at a grocery store. I will definately recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the Sonora/Columbia area.

The 49er RV Ranch is family friendly. If we needed directions, they gave it to us. When we needed help parking in the dark, they gave it to us. When we wanted a fire they built it for us. They also sat around the fire with us and exchanged stories with us. If you are looking for a place to stay in Columbia, California on your way somewhere, this is the place for you. The park doesn't have a lot of amenities within the park but it has a safe friendly atmosphere. My kids are the type that like to do things within the park the whole time they're there. So this wasn't really the park for them. However, I'd go back just to say "hi" tothe warm friendly people who run the park. They truly deserve an A+ on Hospitality!

We camped here just this past march on a rainy weekend. The owners is great and the staff was very accomodating. Nice store, nice sites, close to Columbia and other historical sites. They will build you a fire at the community fire pit or set you up in the lodge for stories of the old days. Full hook ups and everything was clean. Probably a fun place in the summer too. We will go there again soon.

As a newbie Motorhomer this was only my second time taking it out. I am a small woman and brought my elderly father out for a trip. We stayed at the 49er Ranch for I believe for 2 or 3 nights but would have stayed longer. It was just lovely. The people were so nice! *** We still get the newsletters every month from the campsite. The price was just right. The little courtesy shop while not large still had a good compliment of different items. The main town is a short drive on a slightly curvy road, and wish we had towed a car in order to drive around easier for sight seeing as there is not a lot of room for turning around conviences or parking but still managed in motorhome. The campsite was just lovely. There seemed to be a numer of residents living there, but in this case I don't think it was a bad thing, and they were all so helpful. We were camped in a very large lot right in middle but it was still a nice place to be and felt homey. Place was very clean and on the weekend they had a campfire with a guitar player and a little story telling about the area. Kids got a lasso lesson. There is shower stall and restroom stalls for both male and female but I did not use. There was a little site seeing around the camp with a water wheel but for the most part it was a quiet campsite. If traveling in the area and need a break from it all for a couple of days or a week, this is a great place to stop. My dad is still asking me to go back and hopefully we will soon.
