This was our first time staying there. We stayed in February, so not very crowded at all and were able to pick whatever site we wanted. Easy walk to the fruit stand, deli and restaurant. We took our grandson and he loved going on the train and the carousel. Will go again.

First Time...Great Experience!
0 % of users found this review helpful
For years we have visited Casa de Fruta for a rest stop during our travels; however, this is our first time to actually stay here as our destination. What a great experience we had! We live only about an hour and a half away, so it made for a great weekend trip. We have a 1 year old and a 3 year old so the train, merry-go-round and playground kept them pretty entertained. We purchased the season passes because we knew we would be back. We travel with a Coleman Tent Trailer, so were able to stay towards the rear of the park which gave us a lot of privacy this time of year. Our site backed up to a river (which was dry) but made for some great scenery. It's fully paved with full hook-ups, so was easy to keep everything clean. Just across from us was a grassy area with a playground (which was outdated...I remember this stuff from when I was a kid in the 70's, lol). The one thing that really stuck out to us was the restroom/shower facilities. We have a cassette toilet in our tent trailer for emergencies, but prefer to use park facilities where available. The restroom/ showers facilitates were excellent!! It must have just been renovated...very modern with great shower stalls! Don't be discouraged by the location. It is true that you can only do so much at Casa de Fruta, so its great that Gilroy is only a 20 minute drive over the hill. Casa de Fruta RV Park is a great, quiet little gem, tucked away on Pacheco Pass. We have already made our return reservations. Thanks again!

Friendly, helpful staff

We decided to get away for a few days to a location close to home. This is very convenient to the South Bay. I phoned for reservations and was greeted by a friendly, helpful voice who took our reservation. We were checked in by another staff member who was equally helpful and friendly. When we had problems with our Interenet connection, we went to the office and it was resolved quickly and with a smile. The bathrooms were spotless. The grounds are a museum/graveyard of old farming equipment. It is interesting to see what has been used for farming/ranching over the years, but a little depressing to see it all decaying away. We looked for a place to recycle our cans and bottles, but there was none. One of the staff members said to leave our recycling at the office and she would take it home. We took our recycling home instead. The sweet shop has all sorts of tempting goodies, as does the restaurant.

We stay there often do to working in the area from time to time. Also take groups there for outings related to special events at Casa De Fruta throughout the year. Staff is wonderful and what a great location related to other events in the south bay area region as well Monterey and Carmel. We highly recommend Casa De Fruta! Everything you need related to accomodations, food, fuel and shopping, love the shops and fruit stand! Great place to take the kids for a weekend or a week, they love the train ride and Merry-Go-Round.

Great Place to Stay
0 % of users found this review helpful
We stayed here for the New year's Eve Party and had a terrific time. It was an unbelievable value at $134 for 2 nights in our 30' RV and the NYE Dinner Dance. We suspected we would be paying outrageous money for drinks from the bar but were pleasantly surprised that too was a great value. The party was a lot of fun and there were people from all age groups there. The DJ was great as I am sure it was a challenge to play music to 3 different generations but he succeeded. The bathrooms and showers have recently been renovated and are very nice. The grounds are not meticulously manicured but it lends to the rustic old charm of the place. Everyone who works here is very friendly and accommodating. We like to stay against the creek area because it gives a feel of the "wilderness" even though it is a basically a large parking lot. it is also very quiet which is surprising being fairly close to the highway. Casa de Fruta RV park is a park to stay at if you have a big group or just want a quiet getaway.
