Quiet, nice little Park in a Great Location
100 % of users found this review helpful
2nd Thanksgiving Holiday spent at High Sierra. Loved it as usual.
Pros - Clean, quiet, centrally located to Fresno and Yosemite, Bass Lake and amenities of Oakhurst (movies, restaurants, bowling, outdoor fun, quirky shops), reasonably priced, WiFi, pretty and did I already say Clean?
Cons - only one which the park cannot help. Across the river is an industrial company of some sort, you can see the trucks and on a weekday hear them coming and going. Nothing major but if you think you'll be camping in the forest with no civilization around you, this is not the place. It is a stunning 50 minute drive to the Yosemite Valley floor, if that's too far for you, this is also not the place to stay.
We look forward to visiting again in the years to come.

Best Campground Experience!
0 % of users found this review helpful
Who knew that RV camping would be sucy fun? From my first call to make our reservation, Larry was cordial, warm, and accomodating. Even though they were nearly sold out, he did his best to find us the perfect spot. Not only did Larry do his best to provide us with a great spot but he also prvided lots of fun and comical aspects to our stay! I think he will be telling some funny stories for a long time to come. We will definitely be back on our next vacation and look forward to seeing Larry again too!
If you go there, please make sure to ask Larry about the couple with the 2 little dogs in the Cruise America motorhome....

Electric Vehicle Friendly

High Sierra RV is the perfect place to charge your electric car on the way to either Yosemite or Bass Lake. Friendly, helpful staff. Great river to explore, just a few blocks to restaurants, shopping and even a movie theater. I'll be back!

Great place!

Great place to stay if you want to be near Yosemite National Park. Nice, small, quiet. Absolutely fantastic with the river just behind the RV Park. Perfect for families.
Friendly and helpful hosts, clean. We will absolutely return! Our best campsite on the trip!
Perfect for a trip to Yosemite National Park. Bass Lake nearby, which is nice (but quite loud with all the Jetskis). All important shopping facilities nearby.
Great place to stay!

Snowy April RV Fun!
0 % of users found this review helpful
The only campground in town, we were treated really well when we booked this to come to a local competition one of our kids was in. People at check in were really nice. Driving in you come by some run-down old mobile homes...not the best entrance scenery. The river scenery was pretty but exactly as in the pictures. The bathroon building was nice but the showers need a complete updating - they were clean but poorly lit, cracked/broken tile and fixtures There weren't enough places for two of us to put towels, clothes, etc.
Going to Bass Lake was a highlight and the restaurants we went to in town were great (El Cid Mexican on the way to Bass Lake).

Summer Fun!
0 % of users found this review helpful
My boyfriend and I stayed here June 2010 for our first time and it was an amazing place! We camped at a small spot next to the water and it was perfect size for the two of us. I cannot imagine having more than four people at our site. I loved the swimming hole after setting up my tent in the hot sun... Went to use the showers and found one of the two showers vacant. Score! except the lady in the occupied shower yelled at me to wait until she was done so I wouldn't use all of her hot water and pressure. hahah Loved the location of this place. Close to food/stores and a nice drive from here to our destination, Yosemite. Would totally recommend this place to a friend. Would definitely stay here again.

Comfort in beautiful Oakhurst

While we chose this facility primarily for its proximity to Yosemite NP we were pleasntly surprised to find all that it had to offer the camper. WHen we stayed there were few retail outlets nearby so taking all you need for your stay would be advisable. Overall a good site at a reasonable cost. Recommended

Great location in a lovely town. Very peaceful along the river and very friendly reception. The laundry room wasn't always open to do washing. Will definitely return. Thank you!

Great place to stay & excellent service!
100 % of users found this review helpful
This is a quaint little campground with a small stream and pond running through it. The pros are that you are only 10 mins or less from Bass Lake so that you can plan a day or two at the lake, another day to explore Mariposa Grove and other nearby Yosemite attractions which I believe are only about 30 mins away from camp and for another day exploring the rest of the park. Another benefit is that there is a great pizza place next to McDonalds in Oakhurst when you want an easy night of no cooking and cleaning. On my last trip, I remember speaking with a gentlemen with questions I had about the number of campers and regarding hookups and he had so much patience to explain how the accommodations would work for me. Even the time before when I wasn't even staying there because they were booked solid, the readily offered an alternative at their sister campground which is much bigger and an excellent place to stay (Yosemite Pines). We have remained loyal customers for this reason and this is an excellent alternative when you are trying to find accommodations just outside of the park because it is usually quite a challenge to stay within the park.
