As we left the campground yesterday, we vowed to schedule our family reunion there next summer. Everything about this KOA facility far exceeds the number of amenities and cleanliness we have experienced at other campgrounds. The setting amidst the redwoods is beautiful, the office/store, sites and shower/restroom facilities are immaculate, and there is a veriety of RV, tent camping and cabins available for all levels of campers. The hosts are friendly, approachable throughout the park during the daytime/early evening, and very helpful -- there are mountains with hiking, biking, hunting and fishing spots nearby and the hosts are very willing to recommend spots or activities that will engage all age groups. The campground itself boasts both grass and sand volleyball/badminton courts, a tetherball court, a basketball hoop for perfrecting shots and dunks (and a friendly game of H-O-R-S-E), an immaculate doggie challenge course, a sparkling pool with cabana, pedal scooters and a well-tended play area for young children. A clubhouse is being planned for large group get-togethers in the near future. During summer months, the hosts provide Friday night movies with popcorn on the greens, Saturday afternoon ice cream "socials", and a Sunday morning all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast with all of the amenities. Summer days can get warm (90's) but the redwoods filtering the sunshine keep the campground comfortable. Spring/fall nights get cool enough for blankets. Dressing in layers and bringing a jacket along are advised when activities at higher elevations or remaining out at dusk is anticipated. The number of returning guests is a good indicator of the popularity of this campground.
