Santee Lakes campground is nestled in a canyon in Santee, CA, yet you would never know it is in a residential neighborhood. Making Reservations and checking in is a breeze. It is fun by day and peaceful at night. By day there is 2 pools and a jacuzzi, grassy areas for your favorite lawn games, bike riding to the rest of the park. During this time of the year they have outdoor movies everyother Friday, that allows families to enjoy. There are various events that you can participate in, including the kids Fishing Derby we experienced that weekend. The staff are great and the Camp Hosts are always eager to help you to make your first or your 100th time there memorable. We have camped here many times, and have never had a bad experience. The Padre Water District has recently added these wonderful cabins on one of the lakes for those who don't want to rough it too much. They are fully furnished, and you have to bring very little to enjoy them, and the experience of camping right on the lake. The cabins make fishing a sport you can enjoy. The facilities for the campground are well maintained, and I have never found them to be dirty in anyway. Many of the camping spots in the back of the park are located on a stream that was built several years ago, which adds a little more outdoors experience. These camp spots are ample for even the largest rig. I truly enjoy the experience of Camping at Santee Lakes, and encourage you to check out their Website. Spaces can go fast so check your calendar and for available spots open. Our favorite is space 288 in the back by the stream. Gives you lots of breathing space, and an area to setup your favorite lawn games. Our daughter loves to invite her friends to join in when we camp there and I know you will enjoy this little retreat as well
