Pleasantly surprized
100 % of users found this review helpful
On a last minute whim I decided to take a short trip somewhere near Santa Cruz. I made a reservation and when we arrived were greeted by the owners who were very friendly. Our site was perfect for our small rig, right up against the river enclosed by a group of Redwood trees. The facility is very well kept and clean as a whistle. Our kids and dogs enjoyed the river and so did me and Mom. The Sunday breafast was great with pretty much all you could eat. Very friendly personable service. Their yard maintenance man is very attentive friendy and promp. There are quite a few local attractions. The Mystery spot is a must and of course the Santa Cruz Beach and Boardwalk is always fun. All in all we had a wonderful experience and will undoubtedly return for a longer stay.

Good Times

The facility was immaculate! The staff was very helpful and even though we had a camp site mixup (ours was taken) they were very willing to help us move to the correct site in the am. The kids loved playing in the river and the rec room provided hours of fun. Quiet time did not seem to be enforced but at our second site, the people were all quiet after 11pm. WOuld definitely return if we were in the area.

Awesome redwoods!

Staying at Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort was a wonderful experience among the redwood trees and the San Lorenzo River. The friendly staff serves breakfast every Sat. morn in the summer. Beautiful rec hall for the kids which are also allowed to play on their bikes and ride thru the park. Fire pits allowed for the perfect atmosphere. Our dog loved the river as well. Will be back.

T'was great!

First and foremost, the staff was wonderful...from the moment I got on the phone to make our reservation, 'til the moment we departed! The staff was very friendly, helpful, and accomodating. The park itself was just beautiful...redwood trees surrounding us as far as the eye can see, and the sound of the San Lorenzo River flowing right behind, within 15 yards from us. (By the way, the restrooms/showers were extra clean!) The ambience was very family-oriented which suited our needs perfectly!

Relaxing Few Days
100 % of users found this review helpful
We visited Santa Cruz Redwoods Resort with another couple and 2 grandkids (ages 2 & 9). We totally enjoyed the two nights there and will return. My grandaughter still talks about the nice clean restrooms with combinations (this fascinated her). I was very impressed with their cleanliness. We used the Rec Room and felt very safe in the park. The park is not large and it is extremely difficult to get down to the creek/river in the park. It is only a few minutes from the town of Felton that has a great City Park along with groceries, etc. and not far from Santa Cruz. We spent one evening at the Boardwalk and the beach. It is a little pricy compared to other parks, but would go back occasionally.

Recently refurbished
100 % of users found this review helpful
We were looking for a couple of day get-away close to home and chose Santa Cruz Redwoods. It has a beautiful setting and has been cleaned up majorly from what it was reportedly like with the previous owner. We camped in the off-season, so had the place pretty much to ourselves. The manager was very friendly and helpful. There are good hikes in the area, but don't plan to walk into Felton along Hwy. 9. There isn't much of a shoulder. If you tried this place before it was refurbished (2010) and didn't like it, give it another chance.

What an improvement!
100 % of users found this review helpful
This park was quite dumpy a few years ago but the new owners and managers have completely redone the sites and facilities. The campsites are under the redwood trees and some are right on the river where you can hear the water passing through. The bathrooms are spotless and the Group Room was very well equiped including a nice TV, ping pong table, a full kitchen and many tables and chairs etc. They hosted a great pancake breakfast on Mother's Day and beginning Memorial weekend they will have breakfast available in the group room every Saturday morning. The Managers are very friendly and helpful as are all the helpers on the property. They are happy to handle reservations for groups and we hope to stay with them again soon. Prices are a bit high but now the norm for the nicer RV resorts.
