Gem in Disguise

1. It's the people: we wanted to board our dogs for one day while we rode the Skunk Train and called the resort for a recommendation. Dusty and Gus said not to bother with. Kennel. The took our dogs for the day, no extra charge. We had a great train ride and the dogs had a fun time as part of a new family for the day. Only special people engage in acts of kindness and Sportsmen RV is operated by truly special people.
2. When we arrived, our son said "yea, Dad booked a parking lot." Ok, the area is flat. But, what a great "flat." the picnic area is a dock at water's edge. The sunset on the mouth of the river was spectular. The location is convenient to places to eat - walking distance - and shopping and all of Fort Bragg is right above the park.
3. If you like to walk, there is a nice path up the hill to town. You can walk to the break water and watch boat activity. And you can walk around the entire marina with lots of fishing activities and related businesses.
4. Bathrooms and showers always warrant a comment. Theirs was immaculate.

Loved It

We were sorry to leave. Weather was frequent, dock on the river is available 24/7, restroom/shower was always clearn and the operators were friendly and onsite. Fort Bragg area has much to do and see. View from dock is breathtaking and there are 5 good restaurants in walking distance. We will be back again and again.

Great Stay
0 % of users found this review helpful
We stayed for a week this month at the Sportsmans RV Park. This was our 3rd stay at this park and we thouroughly enjoy it here. Linda and Dusty are great hosts. They go above and beyond to make sure our stay is always wonderful, even sharing the daily paper with us. The deck is a great place for moning coffee, afternoon reading or meeting others for happy hour. It is relaxing to watch the fishing boats come and go. Our dog loves the off leash dog beach that is a short walk away. My favorite is the six restaurants in Noyo Harbor that are within walking distance. I really get to relax and only need to cook one meal a day!! Great Place to Stay.
WE WILL BE BACK!!
